So, Monkey slept from midnight to 6:45 am this morning. I'm hoping that this is the start of longer sleeeps again. Please! It was quite funny - I woke to her grizzling and asked hubby to change her so I could feed her, then asked what the time was, thinking it would be about 4am. When he said 6:45 we high fived. Awesome start to the day!
In other good news today, some people are coming to look at our house tomorrow morning. I'm now in a strange place - I want to sell but not ready to move! It would mean probably moving mid-term now which is a bit of a pain. Anyway, cart before the horse there. We'll see if they like it first.
Last week was a good one. Terrible on the night sleeping, but Monkey is a delight, really. She naps well and eats well. She's having three meals most days now, plus 4-5 breastfeeds. She's also still incredibly close to crawling. A couple of times now she's put one hand and one knee forward,. but then belloflops before the others can follow. The closest she came was at mother's group last Tuesday when she spied the muffin plate on the floor. She seriously almost crawled towards it to get one! Oh, Friday last week she had her weigh in with the MCHN and was just over 8kg. Growing up :( I had a real sad moment in KMart the other day looking at the baby clothes and realising that she'll never be that small again. I expect I have a lifetime of that coming!
I enrolled her in occasional day care yesterday. I went and looked at it and while it's not me or hubby, it's still a nice place and seems ok for a couple of hours a week. I'm going to take on a couple of extra hours a week at work for 4 weeks so will put her into care for some of those days and she'll hang with a friend of ours the other days. I'm nervous about it but it's a good time to start at least so she gets used to being with other people.
Yesterday my period arrived back. Not impressed. After 17 months without it i'd forgotten that it kind of sucks!
A lovely friend of mine had her baby two days ago at 32 weeks. He's doing amazingly well and so is she. I wish I could meet him, but they're in a hospital in the city. Maybe we'll go there for a couple of days in the holidays.
Sunday I went for two amazing hikes with some friends. We did Mount Zero and Hollow Mountain. Lots of scrambline up and over and around rocks so it was a great workout. I was ready for bed by 7pm that night! We're hoping to do more each weekend.
Now enough procrastinaton. Work to do!
