11/11/2010 lots of growing

11/11/2010 - 4w 1 day

Monkey has gained two pounds since birth! Go piglet! She has been So unsettled after each feed. CHN says it's normal, but I don't know. She also gets hiccups after every feed. I'm trying her on a colic mix recommended by the CHN to see if that improves it. Forgot to give it to ger before this last feed though. Oops! Today it's been hot and she's been snacking every two hours or so. Hoping that doesn't last thorough the night Last night and the night before were two horrid ones. She was awake for so long, I considered getting up and watching TV with her. It seems so much harder at night, too, and the minutes drag on and on.

LC is coming out tomorrow. Looks like the thrush is almost gone but I might have a little eczema (sp?)  from the creams used as treatment. Sigh. I just can't win. And BFing is pretty uncomfy when it's so hot. I'm back to thinking 3 months of this and we might have to go to formula. My boobs are being destroyed, along with my will to keep going with this.

Monkey has been more active between feeds - today she had some good naked time, where she kicked about, and then she had a lie on her mat, staring at the hanging toys above it. She's so cute when she concentrates on stuff like that.

I would love a visitor-free week. Is that rude of me? I just need a week of no commitments so we can try and get some sort of daily pattern/routine going. We have one, a little, but I feel like we're always heading off to the next appointment, or waiting for the next visitor.I guess I keep thinking if we have visitors I can appear to be handling everything ok, and then it will become reality. Does that make sense?

Went to the ABA meeting last night and borrowed "Dunstan Baby Language" from their library. Must watch it tomorrow. Hopefully it will solve a little of the mystery, as I just can't work out what her cried mean a lot of the time.

Bed now. Fingers crossed we get some sleep tonight! CHN said that every hour of sleep we get before midnight is worth two after midnight. Hmm. It's 10pm! Maybe we'll put that theory to the test tomorrow night
