My gosh, Monkey is so close to walking! Today I was chasing her around the couch and she let go for a second here, a second there as she took the next step, but always grabbed the couch again with one hand. I so, so hope we're both home to see her walk the first time.
Hopefully this weekend we'll take her to the zoo for the first time. It's supposed to be stupid hot tomorrow and Saturday but better on Sunday. She adores all animals, so I think she'd have fun at the zoo.
Words are getting slightly better - today she was trying to repeat things after me, but nothing 100% clear. "Yum" seems to be a bit clearer, and she shakes her head "no" at everything. Oh, and we've had "uh ah" for when she's doing something she's not supposed to for at least 2 months now. She'll reach for the Wii, then look at me, shake her head and say "uh ah". So cute.
Last night Monkey slept ALL NIGHT! Yes, I need to shout that. I'm still ridiculously tired, but that's ok. Went to the Dr today for follow up on cough/tiredness. Sat in the waiting room for 50 minutes, then went to the counter to ask what was up. The receptionist told me there was still one person ahead of me, plus the person who had not yet emerged from the Dr's office. WTF?! She said "we have no control over how long the doctors take". Grrr. The worst was that they changed my appt from 4.30 to 3.40, and I sat there for an hour anyway. They could have said something. I rescheduled, but now they can't get me in until next Friday, so I'll have to take Monkey with me. Yay
Really need to start thinking about packing. But that would mean we're really moving, which makes me sad. I know it's the right decision, but damn, I'll miss my friends.
Right now though, must go to bed. Monkey has been asleep three hours, so I'd better get to sleep too!
