Thursday

28/4/2011
Tough night last night, but we've survived, and I know I have tomorrow off, so that makes tonight easier to face. Husband is out playing with his mates, so I'll be off to bed soon to enjoy the snore-free time before he gets home.

Today I made some good choices at work and asked to scale back my commitments quite a bit. Feels good to reduce the stress that way, and it makes me a better mum to not be worried about work all the time (just most of the time)

Today husband bought me the new Aldi cookbook. I'm looking forward to giving it a go, and seeing if we can do most of our shopping at Aldi and still cook healthy meals. There are some things I'll still need to get at Coles (like breast-pads - I should have shares in Rite Aid by now!) and the cereal I like, but most ingredients should be able to come from Aldi. We seem to both be impulse grocery shoppers, going in for one thing and coming out with five. Now we're on a reduced income we just can't keep it up. So scaling back on groceries will help.

Hoping we can book our O/S trip this weekend. Just waiting for a new credit card to arrive, one that covers travel insurance. We've managed to save a bunch, but it will only cover the airfares at this stage. I'm sure the extra writing work I've been doing will cover the spending money, not that we'll need much. We're planning a fortnight away but will be staying with family so that cuts costs.

Tomorrow i'm booked in for a massage, but I don't know how bub will go with having to be quiet for 45 mins.... might have to cancel it, or change it to a manicure if I can. Don't know what I was thinking, booking it on my SAHM day!

Now, bedtime. Am reading a good book - "The pile of stuff at the bottom of the stairs" which is really amusing. The last book I read was "Room" which was a bit depressing, so it's good to follow it with some fluff. Bub is asleep, and am hoping she remains that way for a couple of hours yet. That said, my left boob wants her to wake - going back to work after three weeks off means my boobs haven't quite caught up and are so sore tonight.

Anyway, 'night!
