Today we went to the zoo! Last night Monkey slept terribly - up for two hours from 2-4am. DH got up this morning with her thank goodness, and let me sleep in. It was marvelous!
We then decided it wasn't too late so drove to the Zoo (an hour away). It's one of those country zoos with winding paths and animals you can feed as well as the ones in big pens. Monkey laughed and pointed and made her excited noises all day, she had such fun! We had fun, too. I think we really needed a day out as a family.
Afterwards we went and had an ice cream at an amazing store. We haven't been there since about a fortnight before we had monkey. It was just nice to get out in the sunshine and do something different. And monkey loves animals. She especially liked the wombats, so it must run in the family.
Have spent the evening baking savoury muffins and chocolate muffins for the week, although I think we have enough for the whole neighbourhood. I'm trying to find things to feed Monkey for lunch/snacks other than peanut butter sandwiches, cheese and yoghurt. Any recipe ideas welcome! She won't eat vegetables unless I hide them, so i'm hoping the muffins will work.
Muffin recipe:
2c s/r flour
2c milk
2c grated cheese
any veg in the fridge/freezer (I added corn, zucchini and carrot today).
